You get one JSON message per enriched article, in the same shape as a webhook's article. Both filters are optional.

The stream is live only: nothing is replayed. When you reconnect, fill the gap with /v1/news/search and since=<last published_at you saw>.

A connection with a missing or invalid key is closed with code 4401, and one whose key lacks stream:read with 4403.
